Disgusting (and Interesting) Facts

  • Much of the Zebra Duikers diet consists of fruit, leaves and shoots that exist high up in the tree canopy. The Zebra Duiker has therefore learnt to follow birds and monkeys from the floor of the forest, and eat whatever they drop.

  • The stripes on the back of a Zebra Duiker act as a visual defence mechanism, as it makes it hard for predators to focus their eyes on the outline of the Duiker’s body.
